The Governor of the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority "Monsha’at" Sami bin Ibrahim Al Hussaini met with the Chairman of the Al Madinah Chamber Mazen bin Ibrahim Rajab and members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, as part of a meeting aimed at aligning efforts to support and empower entrepreneurs in the region.

The meeting discussed key initiatives implemented to develop the SME sector in the region, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation between both sides in support of a more empowerment-focused model centered on readiness and growth stimulation. The discussions also addressed linking programs and initiatives to actual market needs and enhancing SMEs’ ability to benefit from available opportunities.

The Governor of Monsha'at explained that Al Madinah Al Munawwarah is witnessing growing economic activity, which has contributed to the diversification of SMEs and the expansion of their presence across vital sectors, including services, transportation, retail, and hospitality. He noted that this growth requires greater focus on improving productivity, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting SMEs’ readiness to expand within supply chains linked to the region’s economic activity, thereby strengthening their ability to grow and capitalize on available opportunities.

He also pointed out that the presence of more than 73,000 SMEs employing over 321,000 male and female employees reflects the scale of the SME sector in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah, stressing the importance of enhancing their efficiency to support the sustainability of their businesses.

He also held a meeting with entrepreneurs and SME owners in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah to identify the challenges they face, facilitate business growth, and discuss the support pathways provided by the authority in the region. Entrepreneurs benefited from training and capacity-building programs, in addition to services aimed at enhancing SMEs’ readiness to join supply chains and procurement opportunities, while providing solutions that help reduce operational costs and connect them with scalable investment opportunities.
