Monsha'at Governor Meets Asharqia Chamber Officials and Eastern Region’s Entrepreneurs

The Governor of the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority "Monsha'at", Sami Ibrahim Al Hussaini, met with the Chairman of Asharqia Chamber, Fahad bin Abdullah Alfarraj, and members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors to strengthen institutional integration and strategic partnership between the two sides, explore ways to develop the region’s entrepreneurship ecosystem further, and discuss mechanisms to enable SMEs to benefit from promising investment opportunities and competitive advantages.
During the meeting, Monsha'at Governor emphasized that the eastern region represents a fertile entrepreneurial environment with strong competitive capabilities and quality enablers that support business expansion and sustainable growth. He noted that Monsha’at seeks, through such meetings, to align national efforts to address challenges and facilitate entrepreneurs’ access to markets, funding solutions, and operational support.
For his part, the Chairman of Asharqia Chamber stated that the Kingdom has adopted an ambitious vision to advance the SMEs sector through comprehensive legislative, regulatory, and developmental frameworks aimed at restructuring the sector and enhancing its efficiency, making it a key pillar in the Kingdom’s economic and social development journey. He added that the national economy achieved overall growth of 4.5%, driven by a 4.9% increase in non-oil activities, which represent the primary ecosystem for SMEs.
The Governor also held a meeting with entrepreneurs and SME owners in the region to identify challenges they may face, support business growth, and review initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency of emerging enterprises. He reaffirmed Monsha’at’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship that supports business growth, sustainability, and competitiveness.
The meeting comes as part of a series of engagements organized by Monsha'at with chambers of commerce and entrepreneurs across the Kingdom to foster an entrepreneurial environment that promotes growth, innovation, and sustainability.
