The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority "Monsha'at" marked the conclusion of the EdTech and Assessment Hackathon at the SMEs Support Center in Riyadh, held in partnership with the Education and Training Evaluation Commission, the National eLearning Center, and Tatweer Education Holding Company. The hackathon aimed to advance innovative educational solutions, foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the education sector, and support investment opportunities and market access.

The hackathon was designed to empower entrepreneurs and SMEs to develop innovative artificial intelligence solutions for the education sector. It also provided participants with the opportunity to transform their ideas into commercially viable prototypes that address the evolving needs of education and help improve learning outcomes.

The event attracted 197 participants, including school and university students, educators, education experts, entrepreneurs, and SMEs operating in the educational technology sector. A total of 35 projects competed across several tracks, including digital teaching, assessment and analytics tools, school management solutions, language learning, inclusive accessibility solutions for persons with disabilities, simulation-based learning, and smart proctoring.

The closing ceremony featured presentations of the most promising projects and recognized both partners and winning teams. Featured innovations included an integrated AI- and robotics-powered system that enables visually impaired learners to engage independently in the educational process, as well as a platform for creating curriculum-aligned educational video games tailored to students.

Other showcased projects included a platform offering more than 12,000 interactive lessons aligned with the national curriculum to provide instant academic support, a platform for grading assessments, analyzing results, and converting them into actionable intervention plans, and the first Arabic-language customizable Learning Management System (LMS) designed to support visually impaired learners and students in special education while promoting their inclusion in schools.

Through initiatives such as this hackathon, Monsha'at continues to support technology startups and the education and assessment sector by providing programs that enable entrepreneurs to grow sustainably, strengthen innovation, and contribute to the Kingdom's economy in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
