He is currently, the Minister of Commerce since 2016. He has also worked as an assistant professor in the department of "Industrial Engineering at King Abdulaziz University" in Jeddah, and Director of the Foundation Akra Contracting Establishment". He holds a PhD in Engineering Management from Missouri University - USA, in 1985; and a member of several non-profit organizations and corporations.
