Monsha'at releases Prototyping Report, highlighting its role in product development and innovation

The Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha'at) issued its "Prototyping Report," outlining local and global developments in the field, its role in accelerating innovation, and reducing risks associated with transforming ideas into testable products.
The report said the global product prototyping market reached 86.66 billion riyals ($23.1 billion) in 2025 and is projected to reach 165.7 billion riyals ($44.18 billion) by 2031, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 11.41%, driven by accelerating industrial innovation and adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies.
Locally, the report said that the 3D printing market registered 1.20 billion riyals ($320 million) in 2025 and is expected to reach 6.47 billion riyals ($1.72 billion) by 2034, with a CAGR of 20.52%, supported by expanding technology adoption across aviation, automotive, education, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors.
The report said financial returns for incubatees at its Innovation Center exceeded 300 million riyals ($80 million), with 263 prototypes and products executed through the center, benefiting over 8,000 entrepreneurs and innovators through specialized programs.
The report highlighted Monsha'at's support through innovation centers, prototyping labs, specialized advisory services, business accelerators, and facilitating access to financing to raise project readiness, while reviewing the prototype development journey from idea evaluation to testing and evidence-based decision-making.
Monsha'at said the report serves as a comprehensive reference for interested parties, as part of its efforts to enhance prototyping efficiency, upgrade technical infrastructure and laboratories, and stimulate investment in the sector in line with Saudi Vision 2030. Access the full report
