The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) announced today that the Ministry of Commerce, the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority “Monsha’at”, and the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk) have won three categories of the Compass Awards, which are granted to global entrepreneurial ecosystems, whether individuals, organizations, or communities, that have a significant international impact in enabling entrepreneurs to establish and grow startups around the world. The Ministry of Commerce won the One Global Ecosystem Award, which is granted to organizations that have had an impact in connecting a wide range of stakeholders who help entrepreneurs start their businesses and expand around the world, while Monsha’at won the Brand Champion Award, which is granted to the Global Entrepreneurship Network members that best embody and reflect the network’s brand, by implementing impactful programs and initiatives and adhering to a creative and innovative approach to introducing new programs. The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk) won the Startup Competition of the Year award, which is granted to organizations that ran the best comprehensive nationwide campaign, with creative ways of reaching new segments in terms of impact on the target audience in partner programs and other opportunities within the entrepreneurship ecosystem. The awards ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Global Entrepreneurship Congress, held in Riyadh from March 27 to 30, 2022. At each edition of the congress, GEN honors the entities and individuals who make a difference in helping entrepreneurs and enabling them to grow their businesses and raise their competitiveness, by designing programs, initiatives, and services that support the global entrepreneurship ecosystem. The Global Entrepreneurship Congress includes an accompanying exhibition, workshops, and innovation sections, and offers policymakers an important opportunity to listen to entrepreneurs and understand the challenges they face, contributing to shaping a unified global entrepreneurial environment that is more sustainable and resilient. It also gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet their peers from around the world, benefit from their experiences, and listen to the world’s leading experts in this field. All of the congress’s main sessions are broadcast live on Monsha’at’s account on the Twitter platform, @MonshaatSA, to give the largest possible audience the opportunity to benefit from the sessions’ content.
